Atacand is a prescription medicine that is indented to treat health conditions that are associated with the heart and blood vessels such as high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. In fact, Atacand medication doesn’t cure congestive heart failure but it reduces blood pressure which enables the heart to work more efficient.
Atacand is a member of angiotensin II receptor blockers class of medications. Angiotensins II are the chemicals that make the blood vessels narrow. This leads to a lesser blood flow through the vessels and as a result the load on heart rises.
Atacand blocks the action of these chemicals which allows the blood vessels to relax and expand. This in turn allows to reduce the pressure and the load on heart as well.
